HR or management not getting back to you after what you thought was a good interview is pretty common these days. Get used to it, or risk a lot of frustration.
I was looking at the SBE jobs listing the other day and noticed a lot of open positions. Do they pay what they used to? No. Are there alot of part time and contract openings? Yep, but hey it pays the bills.
Not sure if you specialize in TV or only radio, are up to speed with IT or not, but there are openings for good broadcast engineers, especially if you're willing to relocate. For example, ION TV is constantly posting PT engineering positions in several markets. Currently ION has postings in markets: Honolulu, HI, Clearwater FL, NYC, Cedar Rapids, IA, Frenchburg KY, Des Moines IA, Miami FL, Albany, NY
Family Life Radio has several full time postings in Tucson, AZ and Oklahoma.
Look, I'm not a big proponent of SBE per se, but their job listings are really pretty good and are added to weekly. You need to be a dues paying member to have full access to the listings, but if you're serious about looking for a gig, it's very worth it. Now the whole certification thing? I'll reserve my comments about that part..
Best of luck!
