Upgrade your iPhone to iOS 3 from iOS 4

well, it is a computer isn't it?

After installing iOS 4 my 3G (like so many others) became sluggish and almost impossible to use. The following worked for my phone...

iOS 3.1.x is available at http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ just select the correct version for your device. I downloaded 3.1.2 for the 3G and it came across virus free.

You’ll need .Net v4 from Microsoft (http://www.tinyurl.com/dot-net-v4), and you’ll need RecBoot from http://tinyurl.com/win-downz Un-rar (http://www.rarlab.com) into any directory and run the libusb executable. You will need to reboot after installing .Net 4

This may be moot as it looks like iOS 4.1 which is aimed at the 3G market may be out soon (http://www.tinyurl.com/27ryx9o)
Procrastination I can totally do. I'm good at it, I have a black belt in procrastination, it's an art form for me, I'm the absolute King of, well, I'll finish this thought la

Well, I think I know what you are talking about. My grand daughter has an Iphone thingy and I heard her babbling about "jailbreaking it", and as a result of what she did, it is working much better, and battery life has significantly improved.

It contains a new "programmable feature" that I like. She got a call from her husband the other day. "It showed his caller ID, and it lasted just long enough for her to see who it was, and then the phone went into the "reboot mode" and hung up on him. Great feature to have when the wife calls!

I upgraded my 3GS to v4.0.0 and it performed slightly slower, but I got rid of it right after that for an iphone 4. v4.0.1 upgrade hosed it as well as v4.0.2. I had to use RecBoot to force it out of recovery mode otherwise it kept going in an endless cycle....I think itunes said error code 9.

Recboot has saved my butt many times.

After seeing what iOS4 does to a 3G I refuse to load it ever again.

I have also always had my phone jailbroken and have no problems with it as a result.
