Sencore MRD 3187B

Just a note on the Sencore MRD 3187B IRD. If you have an ASI card in the unit, the "loop through" is actaully a reclocked loop, and if the unit is shutdown/rebooted, you will lose the ASI loop-out on this. I found this out the hard way today... :roll:

Thanks. I didn't know that, but I think I suspected it. We onlyl have about 15 of those boxes and have another one on the way!

The ASI cards in my 3187A frames (same card - different main board, from what I understand) are not "looping" but in and out, the output being whatever is tuned. Our frames all have RF cards as well as ASI cards. In RF-in mode, the ASI output is after the tuner stage but before the decode stage, so with 8VSB cards (ATSC) or DVB-S, the ASI out is the full TS. In ASI-in mode, the ASI-out is indeed a reclocked 'loop'.
