This is Amusing

I was going to discuss this with w4cl personally since I chat with him from time to time, but I figure some of the folks here might find it amusing.

Take a peek at that and tell me what you notice about it. When it was pointed out to me, I was blown away that it was indeed legal.

Point to point on Channel 24??? Which also happens to be their DTV channel? (ermmm I would call that s translator IMHO)

They seem to have more than one "receive" site: http://www.fccinfo.com/CMDProULSLookup. ... ign+Search

Or am I wrong?

It was actually for their analog, so it's shut down now, but otherwise you're correct.

There used to be a translator (W54BT) that was ordered off the air, I'm told. The original plan was to displace it to channel 25, but that apparently didn't happen. I'd wondered under what authority the analog 24 signal was operating once analog 54 went off the air.

It is indeed legal, and I know of at least one VHF LP station who used a UHF channel to relay P2P to a cable headend. This is allowed under 47 CFR 74.602(h) for TV relay service.

The short-lived channel 5 LPTV in Madison, Wis. used a UHF channel for live remotes.
