700 MHz Wireless mics

OK... I will be the first to admit I H A T E reading the FCC legal CRAP.

Wading through part 74, particularly 74.861 which deals with low power 250mW "stations", it appears that it is still OK to use these items, as long as you are aware that it is on a secondary basis and that no harmful interference is caused to any other class.

There have been no changes, right?

I honestly don't know for sure, but I can tell you that there are probably hundreds of thousands of wireless mics that run in frequencies that are now prohibited. You and I both know that they will not go away anytime soon. The FCC has probably figured that out too.

As best as I can read the tealeaves, if you own such a device, you are officially notified that if you get interference from some outside source, you are simply SOL. I really doubt that the FCC will be running around in gray vans looking for churches, schools and others who use these things.

Basically, I think you are now "on your own," but with a wireless mic, you always were. Party on...
