Temperature Probe Recommendation

Postby NECRAT » Tue Jan 20, 2009 8:12 pm

Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent (read: pretty accurate) temperature probe that can ouput a voltage for the analog input on my remote control. (i.e. so that the output voltage varies based on the actual temperature).

The ones I have now don't work worth a darn. (They are the cheap little black ones, I have no clue who made them).

Sine makes a TS-1 sensor that works pretty good and for under $20. 10mv per degree. Uses a 9vdc wallwart

Well, if you don't mind soldering one up to the end of some Belden 8451 and doing some artful heatshrink and such... you can use my solution: the National Semiconductor LM34!

I made up some probes with them, and they work just fine.
